OUR COMMITMENT

Vet Nation wants every veteran, military family member, partner and supporter to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, keyboard, voice control, screen magnification or captions.

STANDARDS WE FOLLOW

We design and test this site to meet Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (36 CFR Part 1194), which adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Levels A and AA. Where we can, we also follow WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

WHAT WE DO

Images that carry meaning have text alternatives. Text meets WCAG color-contrast minimums, including text placed over photographs. Links inside text are underlined, and every link, button and form field has a clear name or label.

The whole site can be used with a keyboard and shows a visible focus indicator. A “Skip to main content” link appears at the top of every page. Pages use a logical heading structure, and the page language is set to English.

HOW WE TEST

We check every public page at desktop and phone sizes with automated tests for Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 A and AA (axe-core), and we review keyboard use and color contrast by hand. Our most recent full review was completed on October 26, 2026.

VIDEO AND AUDIO

Our podcast and story videos are hosted on YouTube, where you can turn captions on with the CC button. If a caption or transcript you need is missing or inaccurate, contact us and we will provide an accessible version.

CONTENT FROM OTHER PROVIDERS

Some features come from other providers: the donation form (Wix Donations), the cookie-consent banner (Usercentrics), embedded videos (YouTube) and our Candid nonprofit profile. We choose providers that support accessibility and report any problems we find to them. If one of these gets in your way, contact us and we will help you finish what you came to do another way.
